Kayaking Lago Mascardi near Mt. Tronador

In March, we did an overnight kayak trip on nearby Lake Mascardi with a local guide.  As usual, the lake setting was gorgeous and when we arrived around the bend to our campsite, there were great views of the glaciated Cerro Tronador.

Sweet spot for a lunch break.

Proving once again that traveling by boat when camping (and hauling all the amenities) is the way to go!

After dinner, we hiked up to a knoll for a view of the valley.  On the way up, we had a nice view of an owl in a nearby tree.

The next morning it was cool and cloudy, so we were grateful for the balmy weather on day one.

Breaking camp.
